GovX - Building a Digital Nation: Smarter Services, Stronger Institutions.

Launched during the Lebanon Works @ Work event, the GovX Hub aims to reimagine governance in Lebanon through digital innovation and artificial intelligence. The breakout session convened H.E. Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadi, members of Parliament from the IT Committee, key ministries, private sector leaders, and international agencies.

Discussions focused on four strategic priorities shaping the future of digital public services in Lebanon:

  • - Developing an AI Factory capable of autonomously designing, testing, and deploying government digital services.
  • - Establishing the GovX Hub on the Lebanon Works platform as the national coordination space for digital transformation and AI initiatives.
  • - Designing a national Technology Fund to support AI adoption, industrial modernization, and the growth of Lebanon’s tech ecosystem.
  • - Mapping the State of AI in Lebanon to assess current capacities, identify key gaps, and guide future development.

The session concluded with the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of State for IT and AI and the Lebanese Private Sector Network, solidifying their partnership to advance these priorities through the Lebanon Works platform.

The GovX Hub will serve as a cross-sector engine for digital governance, connecting innovators, institutions, and investors to accelerate Lebanon’s digital future.

Home-based HealthCare

Launched during the Lebanon Works @ Work event, the Home-Based Healthcare Hub gathered key stakeholders, including Lebanese Private Sector Network (LPSN) members, government officials, healthcare providers, syndicates, insurers, and civil society leaders, to chart a bold new course for Lebanon’s healthcare system.

The session reflected a shared national vision: to transform care delivery through public-private collaboration, digital innovation, and meaningful policy reform. At the core of this transformation is a commitment to expand home-based health services, invest in caregiver and nursing training, and support health-focused startups, positioning healthcare as both a pillar of well-being and a catalyst for economic recovery.

Building on this momentum, the LPSN Health Unit is now driving the next phase of action, including:

  • - Submitting a new draft law, as pledged by the Head of Parliament’s Health Committee, with input from across the sector.
  • - Developing a comprehensive implementation playbook outlining training, certification, and operational standards to professionalize and scale the sector.

This initiative marks a pivotal step in reshaping healthcare delivery, one that places human dignity, economic opportunity, and national resilience at its core.

Lebanon works for All: Unlocking every talent, embracing every ability

Launched during the Lebanon Works @ Work event, the Lebanon Works for All Hub brought together key changemakers to address one of Lebanon’s most persistent challenges: inclusive employment for persons with disabilities (PWD). Participants included H.E. Minister of Social Affairs Haneen El Sayed, along with representatives from ministries, the private sector, international agencies, and NGOs.

While Lebanon has legal frameworks in place, implementation gaps and a lack of private sector alignment continue to limit access for PWD in the labor market. The session emphasized the urgent need for:

  • - Legislative reform and enforcement
  • - Cross-sector collaboration
  • - A coordinated national plan for sustainable, dignified employment

As a concrete step forward, participants committed to establishing a dedicated task force to guide inclusive hiring practices and contribute to a national roadmap, including clear KPIs to track impact and progress over the next two years.

This Hub sets the foundation for building an economy that recognizes ability, embraces diversity, and truly works for all.

Water wealth

Launched during the Lebanon Works @ Work event, the Water Wealth Hub tackled one of Lebanon’s most urgent, and persistently overlooked, challenges: sustainable water management.

With the World Bank projecting a 10% decline in national water availability due to climate change, Lebanon faces mounting pressure to address aging infrastructure, limited supply, and deteriorating water quality. Despite past strategies like “Blue Gold,” meaningful implementation has remained out of reach.

This breakout session convened 20 influential stakeholders from across the public and private sectors, including senior officials, environmental NGOs, and companies specializing in water and wastewater solutions,  to chart a realistic, results-driven path forward.

Key priorities identified included:

  • - Clarifying legal and regulatory frameworks to accelerate reform.
  • - Advocating for updated water laws and centralized governance.
  • - Launching pilot projects such as rainwater harvesting and wastewater recycling, initiatives with environmental, economic, and job-creation potential.

Going forward, the Water Wealth Hub will act as a coalition-building platform to drive coordinated, measurable progress on water sustainability in Lebanon.

Green Gold

Launched during the Lebanon Works @ Work event, the Green Gold Initiative breakout session brought together leading stakeholders dedicated to revitalizing Lebanon’s olive and olive oil sector. It showcased how coordinated national efforts can bridge the gap between policy and practice.

The session featured the active participation of H.E. Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Nizar Hani, who expressed strong commitment to the session’s outcomes and pledged support for the next phase of implementation.

Key priorities now being advanced through ministerial engagement include:

  • - Reactivating the National Olive and Olive Oil Assembly as a coordination platform for stakeholders.
  • - Strengthening inter-ministerial collaboration to implement Geographical Indications (GIs) and Appellations of Origin, and achieve international recognition.
  • - Securing international accreditation for the National Olive Oil Laboratory, both for sensory and chemical testing.
  • - Developing a sustainable system for producing and distributing certified olive seedlings.
  • - Promoting Lebanese olive oil locally, especially in duty-free shops, restaurants, and hotels.

This session marked a pivotal moment in aligning national momentum and institutional backing for one of Lebanon’s most treasured agricultural sectors.
